Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey Topics), 19 October 2014

Welcome to the new week! I hope everyone has a great one!
  • OG, I know you will enjoy meeting up with Daughter 1 and her husband on Wednesday. I hope tomorrow's weather doesn't cause any problems on the road. How unfortunate that Daughter 2 feels "icky", especially when she has to meet the drying company men. It possibly is the last thing she will feel like having to deal with. Glad to hear that she is making a home at her present accommodation.

  • Good morning, all. The weather here today can best be described as Niagara Falls!

    On the plus side the cockatiels enjoyed some uninterrupted mating.

    Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning, All. Hope everyone has survived the bad winds in UK! Clare, sorry you're so wet, we are just damp here. Too much information regarding the sex lives of your birdies LOL!!!
  • Sorry, Lindy.  It's just that it endlessly tickles me that we have a gorgeous male cockatiel and he's expected to remain celibate by both Limpy and our teenager!  We were asked if we would take in a particularly beautiful female - the male liked her immediately and so they went into a cage together.  I think it's spectacularly unreasonable to expect the pair of them to 'behave themselves' under such circumstances.

  • Good Morning ALL. The rain seems to have become much lighter, but the wind is getting stronger The wind is nothing compared with the forecast for Scotland and most of England and Wales, though. I hope you will all be fine. I need to go shopping this morning. OH has just gone out to retrieve our household rubbish bin, which has been blown over after having been emptied.

  • Aaaah! Clare - it must be love, then!
  • Good morning all do hope that there has not been too much damage after the wild weather overnight which some of you experienced. We have been lucky in Dorset as the winds were not as strong. Lots of very heavy rain but we now have blue sky with a blustery wind.

    OG hope the weather has not stopped your visit but do take care if you are travelling.

    Lindybird a heart melting pic of baby elephant with its Mum. Love all animals but elephants are so special. Meant to say yesterday about the beautiful costumes for Coppelia, they were just stunning.

    Not a lot to say so will see if I can tempt Billie out for a while. At the  moment she is sitting  on top of her scratching post in the consevatory. If she does venture out it won't be for long, doesn't like getting her feet wet or being blown about in the wind.

    have a good day all and take care.

  • If this is spring, I don't want to be here for summer. Max was 37.7 C today. Thunderstorms due tonight, so tomorrow will be muggy. I visited library today for wee bit of research and I was asked if I needed help. No longer a familiar face! It's only my 2nd visit since May.

  • Hello MARGO. I hope you don't blow away! {{{HUGS}}}

  • Hi AQ not to bad here in Dorset. Your temperatures very high hope you dont melt.
