Hi all: Just mentioned on the new Weekly Chat that I won't be around this evening (Sunday evening) UK time since I'll be in LA for the day and not home until late Sunday (6:30 a.m. Monday, UK time.) Off to start dinner. Happy viewing all.

Not a silly question at all, Paul. Generally, i don't think they do, apart from saving left-overs from one meal for yourng chicks to the next. However, there is the notable exception of EJ, last year. Odin had gone missing (later found to have been fouled up in fishing line) and EJ literally didn't know where the next feed for her very young chicks was coming from. Then, out of a Tesco bag, four fish mysteriously appeared in the nest! EJ, bless her, made those four fish last four days!!!!!
Smiles, Jan.
Hi.Thanks for answering my question Cirrus, and Wattle. Any information received on ospreys is very gratefully received by me because I didn’t follow the ospreys last year, as I hadn't joined this group until after they'd fly away on winter migration. So I only learned about the 2009 events much later. Absolutely fascinating, both wonderful and at the same time frightening. Reading about Odin being caught in fishing line was bad enough in old LG blog posts. However it really must've been nerve shredding for those following events live. So glad everything worked out okay.
Paul.
