Happy new week
Nearly the end of Sunday; been busy doing … not much! Haven’t gone to church as I still get so tired by evening, and am still not 100% physically. OH has to sleep on the floor for what we hope will be just a few nights: my adjustable bed jammed with the head end right up when he raised it for cleaning (apparently a fault in the relays in the computerised control system), so he has given me his and will put his mattress on the floor. They are a pair, so I will keep the normally shared king-size duvet, and we have got J’s from the loft and aired it for OH to use.
J has traced his missing guitar “pedal” – a very large and costly “all singing; all-dancing” one; it had been packed away after summer camp and taken back to York by the organisers, so he now has to arrange to fetch it, which really needs to be at mid-term break, but that may be when his car is being repaired. Nothing is ever straightforward for us!
Annette – thanks for starting the new week when you were so busy with family and packing. I hope you can get away easily in the morning; stay safe and enjoy NY and the company of your Sister!
Brenda – a dreich day here, apart from a few sunny half-hour slots. Surprised that you had frost – must be the clear sky that did it. Canterbury (Kent) wasn’t our Uni – we only went there the once to visit a school friend of mine who studied there. Ours was in Colchester (Essex). Pleased you had a good time.
Rita – good to hear from you! How wonderful that you raised two young veterinarians, and that one also married a vet. That was a huge blade of grass to be up that cute little nose; made me sneeze to look at it! I trust Walter made a full recovery.
I think we are about to watch Saturday’s “Strictly” which we recorded. Planning a shopping trip tomorrow: Garden Centre with its Craft Shop, and then Asda on the way home; weather map shows worst of the rain going round us, so hope it’s right!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Yes OG, Walter has made a full recovery, I hope he will never do the same thing again!' What a shame that your bed has jammed, hope your OH will manage to sleep alright on the floor and that the bed can be put right soon.
Sorry OG. The minute I read your post, I did remember that we had had a university conversation some time ago. The only similarity is that both begin with 'C' :- 0It was a very clear night, last night. The moon was very bright, We have had a lovely day, but from tomorrow morning and onwards, it looks pretty awful for the rest of the week. Our fence man is supposed to return on Tuesday, but having watched ' Country File ' with the weeks weather forecast, I don't think that will happen.Sorry about the bed problem. I do hope EE doesn't have to spend too many nights on the floor. I hope he remembers he is on the floor, when he gets out of bed, tomorrow morning. I am sure there will be some laughing, tonight.
Heather, I am jealous now. My shoes didn't have a silver buckle :-((
Neither did I have silver shoes, Rita !! I obviously must have had a deprived childhood. LOL
EDIT, Oh No. Even Daisy had silver shoes. Thank you, Wendy !!!!
THANKS ALL!
Just written a long post and it didn't post.
Annette enjoy your stay in NY and meeting up with your sister. Son and d-i-l have been a couple of times and thoroughly enjoy the place.
OG, glad to see that you are feeling a lot better and that J has found out where his guitar pedal went to. Do hope he can manage to pick it up in due course.
Old school friend rang me up tonight, she has just got back from Majorca and saw my email which I sent last week. She now has to see a specialist on Wednesday for a diagnosis which could lead to it being lupus or MS, she's not sure which. Showing symptoms of both but until a diagnosis is made is not sure which.
Had a lovely few days in Bude and will post one or two pics when I've uploaded them.
Not going to read back a whole week but will pick up from this week about all your news.
Take care all.

I’m feeling guilty for not posting. The first few days back from holiday, I kept falling asleep morning, pm, evening & then sleeping through the night. Very unusual for me. On Thurs I visited Dau2 for a few hours. She had a cold, was trying to decorate a cake in the shape of a unicorn’s head, plus usual chores. Saturday family & playgroup friends gathered for a sausage sizzle under a big shady tree (temp reached 32) in a playground for Miss3. Hard to believe the time has flown so fast – I have renamed her, she is too grown up to called LittleMiss. Day went well, with only one mega-tantrum over sharing play toys. I do think Dau is expecting too much but I’d better keep my thoughts to myself. Today is a nasty windy high temp day. Fire bans don’t usually come in until next month but the warnings are out today. Especially as it is a long weekend (Labour Day) and many people would be camping.

Miss L, now weighing 6½ kg. She was bored with the camera & refused to smile!
Miss J, now weighing 5.7 kg. She was "singing".
Awwww, they're beautiful! Nice to see you about, Aquilareen - I was beginning to worry something had happened.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
