As a suggestion, try Signing in with another browser,CHROME seems to work well  for me with this RSPB website.

I had long been perfectly satisfied with Microsoft Security Essentials - apart from anything else it doesn't make itself a nuisance.  However, a PC engineer/repair man recently told me that MSE is falling short and that he now installs FortiClient (free for private use, charged for business use) on his customers' PCs, so I'm trying it on my main laptop (not the recording ones).  It does block things now and then, requiring action, but otherwise it's 'quiet'.  I'm still getting used to it.
