This is a carryon on from the original Technical Test Thread
I could only link to the top of that thread as any attempt to link to the bottom results in the dreaded white screen.
So this is the thread for discussing technical problems.
Tiger Signature
I was on the DU page just now when I got this pop-up in the bottom-left corner. I haven't clicked it, it disappeared when I clicked the forum list tab.
"Sudo-anonymized" ???
IMAGICAT
I have just declined it Scylla....
It says that choice ( ie 'If you decline we will place an opt-out cookie in your browser so that we know that you've declined. This data is not transmitted or stored in our system) will be logged in a local to PC only cookie for future reference, however as yet it seems to pop up every page I load.....but that may be cos I have all 3rd Party cookies blocked.
Hopefully the web peeps will get their act together soon.
Thanks for the response, Trying. I've just done a full MalwareBytes Premium* scan and it's not detected as malware.
I'm concerned because of the spello and the fact that I didn't think RSPB delivered ads anyway, so was wondering if the site had been compromised.
*Premium - only because I bought the Pro many years ago when it was on a very cheap offer.
I agree...it is a very poorly done GDPR notification system notice Scylla....and makes no reference as to who is doing it. It also doesn't link to a relevant privacy policy.
I suspect it has been placed here by one of the 3rd Party Cookies that I have blocked..... at least, I hope this is the case, and not that the RSPB website has been compromised.
3rd party cookies without exception I have blocked when visiting RSPB pages currently.
I forgot to mention the other suspicious item, no link to privacy policy.
I ended up setting a restore point and clicking the dang cookie notice.
Good thinking re: setting a restore point, Scylla
Did you choose Decline or Accept?
Did it resolve the notice from re-appearing when you refreshed the page?
I accepted (because I do accept from RSPB) and the notice disappeared.
Plenty of use for this thread
Just trying to post a photo...
Edit: OK, that worked!
