WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2014

Checked the date twice this time round.

Here's to a pleasant new week all.

  • Good Afternoon to everyone. I am glad to see everybody  is reasonably well.

I am sorry to tell you all yesterday's photos were of a reed warbler not of a wren. Sorry all I should have come back on here sooner.

You have all asked how the Deer Safari went, eeek is my reply! On the first trip I took out I got lost although the people I took out did enjoy it and they did get a longer time and we did see a lot of other birds and the Deer.  However the second group I took out I did not get lost so I was much happier.

Last Monday I had booked some training with a volunteer who had been doing safaris for a long time. His name is Pete a really lovely guy and very knowledgeable.  We went out with me driving and we also took Clare with us and the first thing we saw (you are not going to believe this) was an Osprey!  We then came across the deer -  we also saw a stone curlew and green woodpecker.

  • Thanks for the correction, Limpy. I should definitely look more carefully !!!

Your deer safari sounded like fun and successful. I hope the second safari didn't speak to the first group, or they may have thought they had been 'short changed LOL  Well done on seeing the osprey.

  • Limpy, I was pleased to hear that you enjoyed your Tour Guiding. It sounded such fun. And an osprey!!!! An omen, perhaps, for your future success!!!
  • Annette, your N. York trip sounds just wonderful. Do hope that you pack your camera & we get to enjoy it later! Lynette, if I don't get on here again for a few days, hope you enjoy yourselves in Bude. We went years ago when our boys were young, and loved the area.
  • Just done a quick scan back to Sunday. Thanks for all your news and pictures. We have been away and returned today. Benson was fine in kennels for the first time. He cried with excitement all the way home. At least I hope it was excitement!!!!. Tired out now so off to bed for an early night.

  • Am watching "Bake Off" and making lists. We are off tomorrow and will be back by Sunday night. Take Care, Everyone, especially those who are ailing. And Special Hugs of course to Margo {and Billie!!}
  • Lindybird enjoy your days away, keep my fingers crossed for good weather. Have recorded "Bake Off" as OH is watching football. Safe journey.

  • ANNETTE - enjoy GD and GGD visit and the birthdays!

DIBNLIB - sounds like you had a good time - and pleased Benson was good about first time in kennels.

LINDA - have a wonderful trip - will this be the caravan wrap-up visit, or do you have more planned?

Off to bed - got up at 5:30am due to coughing!  Good night, ALL.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Thanks, Margo. We are taking a couple of our colourful garden pots with us!!! It seems a shame to leave them when they are still blooming. I haven't forgotten that I didn't post my pics this year of the Flower Show, but simply haven't had the time. There aren't as many this year, but I will put them on here when I can. OG - sorry that the coughing is keeping you awake: that's often one of the worst parts of that sort of thing. We will be going back to the caravan later on, babies permitting!! Our Site has just extended its season to longer, it used to close at end of October but will now stay open right up to mid January. However, we don't much fancy being chilly there in winter so may stop sometime in November. Must get off to bed myself now......
  • Dibnlib, Good to see you back. I hope the excited Benson settled down and you managed your early night.

Linda, Enjoy your time in Wales. You both need time to relax.

OG, Hope you manage to get  a good nights sleep and don't need to get up so early again.

Margo, Your OH should be happy with the football result tonight. I hope his cold is getting better.
