Checked the date twice this time round.
Here's to a pleasant new week all.
Had to get up and get hosed down to see man measuring for new blinds in dining room and kitchen. Feel like I did a day's work, but at least my brain seems to belong again - most of the time! J is off work with some of the same symptoms, and OH has started sneezing and coughing!
I did venture out to open the greenhouse door in the sunshine, and was rewarded by a skein of noisy Geese flying to the coast - yes, our Barnies are back!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Its been quiet on here again today. I've been alternately resting and tidying: I put four more garments into the Charity bags (hooray!). Also, as Brenda suggested, eating small amounts of bland type food. Couldn't even finish a mug of tea so things must be abnormal!
Sorry you had to get up and be ready for the Blinds Man, OG. Hope its worth it, and they are done in good time. Always feels nice when you put up something new at the windows. Sorry to hear that you might not be the only one suffering.
Here are some of the photos from our last trip to Wales: taken near Nefyn, where there is a Welsh Heritage Centre on the coast (it has a nice coffee shop which is why we call in!)
We met these Billy Goats Gruff on the hillside as we approached the cafe:
- - not sure they are Billy goats, actually, they all seemed the same so think the females also have horns.
This is the view they have of the sea, from their steep home on the hillside:
Love those Goats, LINDA, and their sea view.
I think I spotted others posting photos recently and enjoyed them at the time but can't remember who or what, so simply "thanks" to them.
Busy weekend here as OH now has a pre op appt for op late October.. So garden and heavy lifting stuff as he will be out of action for maybe 12 weeks;-(
Daisy still not right after a " turn" tonight. So Glasgow University vets clinic on Monday. Long trip but we need to get to the bottom of her problem as she is still only 5..
Autum is arriving .. Chilly but beautiful:-))
WENDY - your OH seems to have waited a long time - I hope all goes well for him. Sorry to read about young Daisy-May; I do hope there is nothing that can't be sorted for her.
ANNETTE - will update about our trip and Daughter's progress when I can write more than two sentences without cough, sneeze or muscle spasm!
OG sadly that is the NHS here at present also a complicated procedure not seen by our GP for 30 years.
Daisy's treatment has on the other hand been second to none... We are hopefully looking at deep seated ear infection over stroke..
I do hope daughters situation is improved. I remember years ago our drains collapsed under the house. Got the runaround mentioned I worked for Barclays funnily enough we youngest and 2 cats rehoused next day!
Hallo all: Busy paperwork morning here and all of a sudden it's the afternoon.
OG: Rest up and don't worry about us.
Wendy: Hope Daisy is okay this week - that's a long wait for the vet (but not as long as waiting for the NHS apparently).
Must do some ironing and get organized a bit. Got a call from a woman (friend of a friend) I haven't seen in decades. She and her OH are coming to Santa Barbara for a few days and want to meet for lunch/dinner. Trying to figure out where and when. Hope this week doesn't get too busy as have lots to do in the next few days before birthdays and NY trip.
Hi all, well we are all back to normal after last week.
Sorry to read that one or two of you have been,or are, ill - do hope you recover quickly.
Lindy - those pics nr. Nevyn on the Lleyn penisula bring back memories of holidays down that way , way back in childhood. Lovely view of the sea.
Had our Harvest supper Sat evening and a short quiz, happened to be on the winning team with our minister and his wife.
Off to the gym for a swim tomorrow but unable to go on Thurs as OH is on commentating duty for the last time this summer. Autumn solstice is upon us and so are the nights drawing in.
Take care all.
