The season is almost over. :'-( EJ seems to have left already. I think she was seen on the nest for the last time on Monday 18th August at 8.59am with a huge fish.
Fly safe beautiful EJ the Phenomenal, have a nice winter rest and come back soon to us.
So, without EJ the girls have had less food yesterday, although Odin has been an excellent provider, as usual. Will they leave soon too? Watch this space!

Thank you NOC!
We've got a spy in the camp today: WENDYb is kindly going to let us know whatever she can find out about the status of the birds, especially EJ's, over which there is some confusion.
I was just looking back at last year and Breagh (which name I had to keep calling him in titles because LG didn't add the "a" on the end until quite late in the season) left on the 23rd, having been deserted on the 22nd, on which day he spent one session of over 2 hours on the nest waiting for a fish or company... How did we survive that?!
The point being that the last fish I recorded was around 0700hr on the 21st, when we remarked that Breagha flew off carrying the fish more competently than usual, and he successfully migrated and is thriving still.
I'm hopeless at finding stuff in the archives - I wonder when he did get his last fish from Odin?

Wow! This was speculatively Cally and Alba's last visit to the nest in 2012, on 19 August - what a contrast the nest condition is to today's - lots of sticks, lots of soft nest material:
The nest another year back, 19 August 2011. My comment on the video:
The LG Centre staff thought that Bynack left at 10am, but Tiger and LadyBird caught sight of this brief, noisy visit @ 1132hr.
Me an' MOFFER insisted this was Bynack RIP - one last stand in his favourite place :'(
This is as far back as I can go, it was my first year. I just searched for the archives and look what I found!
But they're only blog archives, not DUs. In any case, the 2010 juvies were not named because bad weather prevented ringing (that's right, isn't it?) so I wouldn't be able to search for them on YouTube.
