Tiger you didn't list your favourite moments :-)
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
After following Monty's tale in 2013 with Nora not showing and many hungry females passing by, I was concerned about him having to change his mate again. Glesni's return and her victory in the battle against Blue 24 for reclaiming the nest reassured me and I remember this as my favourite moment.
Can't possibly chose one! The whole of the season at LG but perhaps wee Druie standing up for herself when they were all fluffballs;as others have said, the return of that Grand Dame, Lady;the eventual bonding of Maya and 33;Glesni retaining her nest;brilliant success at Kielder;news of birds returning;the wonder that is Glaslyn............
Odin returning early from Africa.
lololololololol
Definitely my favourite moment of the season was when I heard the ‘thud’ on the cam pole at LG on 24th March. The nest was empty, I think my heart stopped beating during those few seconds before EJ jumped from the pole onto the nest. For long you don’t know whether she will make it back or not and then suddenly she is there in front of you (so to speak) without warning. Great feeling!
"What did you expect? A phone call??"
Of course Odin coming back early from Africa has to be a favourite moment too. Well done, His Magnificent Gorgeousness!
The whole LG season was great, but the moments I enjoyed the most were:
Little ‘un, later named Druie, in pole position between her older siblings at most feeding times:
The three chicks cuddling up close to each other all the time:
What about Seasca being trapped in a branching stick and getting upset?
Not to mentioned when she was practicing jumping across the nest and landed on Millie’s back
Then, multi-tasking Odin: nestorising while incubating. It's not easy!
But also Odin relaxing and enjoying the view on EJ’s back after mating. Not sure EJ enjoyed that.
On a personal note, one of the best moments was to spot a nest in the wild during my holidays in Scotland and see for the first time an osprey successfully fishing. I think I've posted the pictures somewhere...

Beautiful selection and thoughts NOC
Several favourite moments for me but my top three have to be
Lady arriving safely again
Glesni regaining her nest from her cousin
Blue YD arriving back to the UK - my first tracked osprey to do so
The icing on the cake would be to hear he has been sighted before he leaves for his backwater winter home
A great set of memories, noc and thanks for your photos, they do remind us of what has been a great season.
