Thanks Scylla. She is a beautiful girl isnt she?
So pleased to see the camera is back - I was hoping I might catch a glimpse of Laddie before he left. Never expected to see such a lovely photo - I wonder if Laddie may have 'Monty' type female problems if Lady does not return!
Not that I've written Lady off, she seemed perfectly fit this year even though the eggs were infertile - I just felt sad that she sat for so long on eggs we knew could not hatch. I wonder if that experience could affect her drive to return.
So good to know one of her offspring is back and successful at 13 years of age :-)

Thank you Scylla. What a beautiful bird Blue AJ1(12) is too. Yet another two-year returning to the UK. Wonderful!!!

Ellieloo - couldnt put it better - I have the same sentiments for her and when her time is up I would wish for it to be in Scotland among her friends. I think it would be a fitting for such a remarkable lady.
Oh Tempo how very brave of you to make that wish. I am afraid I could not watch Lady's demise being played out on webcam, it was sad enough to watch her being ill on cam in 2010 - the end I could not watch.
Lmac, it was indeed very difficult to watch Lady suffering as she did. I think I would rather she ended her days quietly in the warmth of the sunshine near a river full of fish than have a reality brought to the screen. On the other hand I would be very sad not to see her again. Therein lies the dilemma!
Well it appears that if Lady does not return then there maybe plenty of birds in waiting - Hope Blue AJ1 marks this nest as a possibility after her survey of the property. Stunning bird.
Regarding this nest - I think it does require a change in the nesting pair and become a successful nest again but that does not mean I wish any imapairment of Lady - she has been a wonderful osprey and would rather see her not return rather than travel for no avail or her demise at her breeding grounds.
Nicely expressed, KEITH. Blue AJ1(12) is a beautiful looking bird.
Keith, I couldn't agree more.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
