AUGUST - the month for migrations, tracking and empty nests.
The above picture is of the early flights around the nest of ALL the osprey sat tagged at Loch Garten. Looks like a celebration, doesn't it?

Hope we can have "Music" evenings again, they used to be good fun.
My wife has already booked up Il Divo and Kylie along with Sixties Extravaganza over the next few months.
June will be happy to have us on music night I hope. Can I ask you now if you are willing to post for me again. Still not have got the hang of the posting lark.
The Ospreys have packed their bags and have gone "home" to Africa. If we have our music nights again it will help to pass the long winter evenings.
It is very sad to have lost one of "our" Ospreys.
FISH - I would not get too sad - we loose 70-80% of our young ospreys.
There are more sad things in life than ospreys.
YES - Happy to help if around and the interest is there.
Keith I know there are more sad things in life, I lost my son in law in March as a result of an RT.
Good night all I am off now time for Scamp's last walk round the block.
Maybe, just maybe, Keith, our love of osprey is a good antidote to all the ills of the world. We can admire their beauty, laugh at their antics and crying about a lost osprey might ease everyday life just that necessary wee bit. Better than crying about the big stuff, I think I'm trying to say. Which is one reason we avoid most of the unpleasant stuff here on The Gabfest like dental work, and doctor's appointments, etc. :)
Fish, if it isn't too much into the unpleasant, what is an RT?. I seem to remember your son-in-law was killed in an auto accident. Ignore the question if you want to.
Hi June it should read RTA which means Road Traffic Accident. some people just say RT I hope this helps
