The osprey season has flashed past and it is hard to believe that this is the last whole month with the ospreys present.
The Loch Garten nest has been a very tranquil nest indeed. The birds now have their rings and trackers and about to enter the fledging window. Time to look at the fledging charts again. See fledging ages
The chicks at Glaslyn are already in the fledging window. One of them may fly at any time.
Sadly there are no chicks at Manton Bay or Loch of The Lowes to fledge this year. Better luck next year.
There was tragedy at Tweed Valley when the female disappeared and all three chicks quickly perished.
The last ten days of June were dominated by the saga of Nellie and her chicks in Nelson British Columbia after Nelson the male was sadly killed. With a bit of human help she is trying to bring up two chicks as a single mother. Right now it seems to be going well.
Both chicks at Dyfi have hatched and the chicks are growing well closely monitored by Blue 24 who is still not giving up. There was also a report of a fourth nest in Wales this year so that is good news.
There are now four nests in north west England which is excellent news.
Great news from Kielder too with them reporting a third nest with chicks.
So something of a mixed month but overall still lots of things to fascinate.

Now this is a very old thread but not one I have seen before. See here
Long time ago I built a navigation tool but no one seemed that interested. Maybe people could try it out and tell me how it works.
Dead easy to modify too.
Thanks for this link TM, I have this navigation tool as a pinned tab now on my google page & I shall use it from now on to be able to catch up on all posts I have missed recently! Have had a little try &, even given that RSPB forum is so slow at changing pages recently, it is working quite efficiently!!

Well thanks for giving it a go. I use it all the time.If it is not quite right for you? Well very easily modified. I can build as many as people like. I can even build one without the Loch Garten Group.

To be honest, I can't see why people find navigating so difficult. It is quite easy to save links to favourites or make a document as you have.
Edit - sorry, didn't mean that to appear derogatory to you Tiger, that was not my intention, but you know what I mean :)

I have pinned your navigation tool as well Tiger, found it useful already. I wouldn't know how to modify but from what I have tried out it's perfect for me.

Well if you or anyone else wants anything added I will do it very quickly.
Some interesting satellite tracking of ospreys in the American mid west
I think the answer to the question is to be found here
Tiger can you help. Whilst in the forward hide last week I was reating through some LG stats. Green 7b was apparently ringed at Lowes in 2000 and her father was an LG or thereabouts bird. So was green 7b's lady and stressed erics (green b?) chick and was stressed eric a LG chick?
