The scene on Sunday morning.
Birdies LG DU update.
Probably the latter Patily as it would be too early to migrate at this stage. The team have a difficult balance to strike in retreiving the eggs with the minimum of disturbance to Lady and Laddie. It does seem the periods of absence are getting longer and no doubt the team know where the birds are, and when, so that may guide them as to when to intervene. I'm sure they are as anxious as all of us to retrieve the eggs.
Thank MIKE
Morning Patily and Mike.
Patily, My understanding is that even after the Eggs have been taken, possibly early July, they will stay around to defend and stamp their authority on 'this is our nest' .
This year I would assume that to be more important as even yesterday there was an intruder about, maybe looking for a Nest to occupy.
So would expect to see Lady go first and Laddie to do a short stint checking, no one else around, probably early August, then it is a long wait till March.
I am sure there will be past data available in Tiger and Chloes and others. I have not time now to search.
If I recall this was the scenario back in 2011.
Morning SK2
Thanks I only started watching in 2011 and I think I only looked at LG and Rutland so not until 2012 "discovered" Dyfi and LotL
Now you're just an Ospreyholic!!. LoL.
Good morning all. From what I remember of 2011, the birds stayed around the nest area and Lady left as usual early August.

Yes they will stay around. In 2011 Lady left on 7th August and the male Green 7 Y on 11th August. Green 7Y was not seen again. It was an early departure for Green 7Y as in 2010 he was around until 24 August.
