WEEKLY CHAT (Non Osprey) SUNDAY JUNE 1 2014

Happy New Week all.

  • Oh, Alan.  He looks like an ornament sitting there so prettily!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Thanks. Alan for the link to the Foulshaw Moss Blog.   Very interesting to read about the Osprey nest there and being ringed birds we know their backgrounds as well. it looked quite an undertaking for those men constructing the artificial nest!

    Lovely picture of Bowie!

  • Lovely Irises Lindybird, I love all types of Iris, they are one of my favourite flowers.

  • I will catch up later. I thought you would like to know that Margo has asked me to let you know that her blood count is down but the platelets and all other readings are fine. She will explain things better herself when she can get back on line.

  • Thanks to ChrisyB and Alan for finding the references to the osprey nest I couldn't find.  It was very frustrating as the BBC site seemed to ignore all my searches altogether!

Sounds hopeful that there could be another tiny osprey population soon in the UK.

  • Brenda - Thanks for the news of Margo.

  • Feeling as if I am being very lazy following all your posts, but we keep having lovely dry days and getting occupied out or in the garden!

Brenda - thanks for news of Margo, and I hope that you are anticipating getting your home back from the decorators soon!

Linda - I hope you had a lovely time with Tomasz and that DiL's scan was satisfactory.

AQ - big day for you all tomorrow - or maybe already now, with the time difference!

Diane - nice to see a post from you.

To everyone, greetings and thanks for your news and the lovely photos posted today.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Annette - I have been meaning to say what a lovely guinea pig Peanut looks, I absolutely adore guinea pigs! We had lots of them when the children were little, including babies which are gorgeous! they have such a range of different sounds and are easy to spoil as they are so greedy!  the first one we had was called Sophie and she went up to school with us every morning sitting in the front pocket of the car! When we got home I carried her round the garden picking things for her to eat, she used to squeak with pleasure!

  • Evening all: Took out some blue Serbian Bellflower today - they clearly need more shade and water than advertised so removed those that aren't doing well and won't replace them until after we've had some decent rain; not holding my breath.

Brenda: Thanks for the update on Margo; we do appreciate it.

Alan: I'm sure I wouldn't know how to cope if my hair were as long as Bowie's.

    OG: Enjoy the garden.

Rita: Squeaky is definitely the word for Peanut.   I cleaned out his cage today; set up a closed-in area on the patio and thought he might like to explore a bit, but he stayed close to his toys and seemed glad when I put him back in the cage. He does like to sit on his little house and look out the window. My daughter has music going in her house more than I do and she says he likes that so he'll probably be glad to get back home where there's more action. Oh dear, he's peering at me over the side of the cage now; no doubt hoping for a lettuce leaf or two...  Wonder what he'd think about riding in the side pocket of the car!  Don't think I'll risk it.....  :-)

    AQ: How are Things????

Heather:  Assume you're home by now; hope those baby birds survived.

    Have a good Wednesday all.
