WEEKLY CHAT (Non Osprey) SUNDAY JUNE 1 2014

Happy New Week all.

  • Thanks for starting the week, Annette. A Happy New Week to you too.

Good Morning Everyone. A beautiful sunny morning here.

Definitely a lack of posts on here lately. Hope you are all ok.

  • Morning BRENDA Beautiful here in London too

  • Good morning, all - it's similarly beautiful in Felixstowe as well!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning, All - Lovely day here, too! Bright sunshine! Was absent yesterday as we went South to visit our Eldest in his new home, together with his fiancee who is now getting excited at the prospect of being a mother. We had good journeys both ways, and took several breaks. The area they are now living in is very pleasant and the house is just right for them ( only a small, neat garden, as they are neither of them gardeners!). A really wonderful Park nearby with swings etc for little ones to play, plus cricket, tennis and bowling facilities.
  • Margo - See that they found the body of the poor nurse who you knew, and her husband seems to be involved in her murder. Such a shame, I am so sorry.

  • Back from church. So sorry about the the deaths at the Jim Clark car rally, in Scotland. When I have seen these type of events on the TV, I have commented how near some of the spectators stand when watching on the back roads.

Linda, Your son's house sounds ideal for a young family. I hope they will be very happy in their new home.

  • Hello Everybody,  Hot, sunny day here also, seems to be the same all over the country!   We have had several sunny days in a row now and I have been outside in the garden most of the time, beautiful Irises coming into flower now, first time since I bought them two years ago.

Was also sorry to read about the car rally deaths, I have often thought that the spectators stand dangerously close to the road.

I was without my car for four days last week as I had to a have a new clutch fitted.   I set off to go to a Plant Sale at Foulis Castle in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Fund, which I was really looking forward to and then my car broke down a couple of miles outside the village, a terrible burning smell coming from underneath. I had to phone the A.A., wait for an hour and a half and then get towed back to the village! Now, I am waiting for the bill!

  • Been to see the Threave Ospreys this afternoon.  They put on a good show: Mrs had a fly-about off the nest for a few minutes, and dear Black 80 was around at first, disappeared upstream to Loch Ken for a while and returned with a fish.  He stayed on the nest to watch her feed their two chicks and also have a good feed herself.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Rita - What a horrid experience.... Hope the bill isn't too shocking. Your irises sound lovely, they can be so colourful.
  • O G - You came on whilst I was writing...  Glad you managed to see the ospreys.  Hope you and E. Eye are well.

We managed to have lunch in the garden today, it was so warm. Our camellias and poppies are all coming out now, and some of the roses.
