JUNE is the month to watch our hatchlings grow from chicks to ringed and named juveniles, whether we are watching one nest or several. ENJOY!!
With all that growing, Odin will have to increase his fishing activity. This is a thrilling bit of osprey life that we never get to see live at the Loch Garten nest., so I have posted a picture of an unnamed osprey just emerging from the water with his catch. Then the anxiety about the welfare of the birds, both parents and chicks. Then the relief when it is all over. I would think that anyone involved would need some time afterwards just to relax, collect ones thoughts and just settle back to normal.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Keith thanks for your beautiful photo of The River Druie and the map. I was thinking as I typed my earlier comment that many of you would know of this river and be familiar with its name. Hence it would bring different thoughts to y'all.
Don't know Clare If I'd go up that ladder or not. I think I'd have to look long and hard and be sure I had a big trampoline down below just in case. :) Actually I think I would rather tackle that maze of spaghetti roads in Houston than climb that 50 foot + ladder.
Suffice it to say I would love to witness a real live ringing and am disappointed to have missed the on cam viewing Saturday.
One more thing. I do disagree with Richard's "don't-tell-them-anything-till-we're sure" policy. This policy is a long standing one and has been discussed on the forum before. Even though most everyone wants any news, good, bad or inconclusive, as soon as possible, Richard sticks with his current policy.

Glad you like the book. June all went well at the sea burial, it was very moving. Had tears in my eyes as the wee boat took us out into the sound for the comeiting the ashes to the sea. We sailed past the mighty "HMS"Ocean" Michaels former ship. Sorry bad spelling in this,was very moving.
