BIRDIE NUM NUM has given us a link to the BBC Scotland news item about the 'birth' of our first osplet. (If it doesn't start playing at the salient point, skip to 4m27s.)
Apart from the intruders still hanging around, yesterday was a great day for all the family. I think we all agree that the "osplet who should be the 100th to fledge" is a very strong and healthy chick.

Thanks Clare
Brenda, I think you're right - I can see two little stripes!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks Clare. I thought there was possibly a second chick head.
Thank you, Clare. I was trying to be cautious.
Yes there look to be two on Limpy's 7.51pm captures.

My goodness they are hatching fast this year. Great news again.
Apparently it was seen at 7.45pm but I was out shopping.
I hope #3 arrives early also as I wouldn't want the other two getting too big and fearsome before littleun arrives in a few days.
