HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's chat thread is here: http://www.rspb.org.uk/community/placestovisit/lochgartenospreys/f/915/p/111650/864936.aspx#864936
Everyone have a wonderful week!
Here's an extraordinary new discovery! Even if you aren't interested in the science, scroll to the bottom of the article and watch the video at the end. It's truly breathtaking. Seriously, I don't think I breathed for the entire 5 minutes. By the end, I was getting dizzy. The building is the new under-construction Shanghai Tower.http://sciencealert.com.au/news/20140805-25495.html
Heard from Margo. She has had her last chemo, this session, so she can relax with her OH now, without having to go to the hospital every day.
That's great, BRENDA. I hope that she has a lovely weekend.
That's excellent - let's hope she enjoys a nice, chilled weekend in the sunshine. Thanks for passing that on, Brenda.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Unknown said: Has anyone dared wonder how much help Dau will need with three?
Can you hear my hysterical laughter? How many months, nay years, will she need extra help? Her OH will get paternity leave, but I've no idea how much. I escape for 10 days to QLD soon after she returns home from hospital. Home birth would be just too risky. I swear I didn't know she was expecting when I booked my holiday.
We saw that lovely pic of the twins born holding hands. On the same day was the sad pic of twins born in Sydney, one body, 2 faces on a head. I can't imagine how the parents are coping.
{HUGS} to Tina & Margo.
Evening all:
Brenda: Thanks for letting us know Margo is done with this chemo session; hope she and her OH can enjoy the weekend (maybe celebrating the birth of new pond fish?)
AQ: Was that you I heard laughing hysterically while driving back home? I'm sure your S-in-L will cope admirably while you're enjoying R&R in Queensland; however, might be a good idea to turn off your cell phone just in case.... What will you be looking in Queensland and is your OH going with you? Re the Sydney twins, I'm not sure I should say what I think about that situation....
OH and I got our fountain back together and I'll put a basin of water down tonight for whatever might wander by. Off to see daughter tomorrow; she's going to Arizona next week to visit her daughter and granddaughter. I'll be babysitting her dog and guinea pig; someone else will be feeding the horses and ducks! Hope our cat will take a philosophical view of the house guests.
Lovely and cool here this evening - thank heaven!
Take care all and hugs to Margo, Tina; also wondering how NiteOwl is doing.
Good morning all
The sun has got his hat on (just) and the wind has dropped a little, so OH will be a happy fisher today. I think that he spent most of yesterday afternoon in the fishing hut, chatting with the ghillie. Who said that women were the talkative sex?
I heard last evening that daughter #3 and family will be dropping in by today so I'd better look sharp and get showered.
AQ- ANNETTE asked the question that most of us will have been thinking!! All I can say is that I'm glad you got your knees mended xx
Heather: I think that AQ will need an extra pair of arms and hands, never mind good knees!! I love babies, I'll volunteer to spend twelve months in Aus as a helper, in return for my bed & board!! Have to have my good nights sleep each night, though, or I won't cope either!!
LINDY The sun must have heard me, it's disappeared :-(
Enjoy your day in the garden,I'm jealous.
Can't remember if BRENDA's decorator did turn up or not,on Thursday.
ANNETTE- which would you prefer, two animals or two babies?? LOL
OG- 'See' you at the end of the week.
Take care,ALL
