Since the osprey threads tend to be here...these are the ospreys nesting at one of our local lochs (nice view of the nest from the hide too!).

Thank You Kaitai for the updates from Balgavies and the great photos too. Look forward to hearing your next report.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
The two chicks are still doing well and the parents are bringing in plenty of fish! They have started flexing their wings now so it won't be long before they are taking practice flights!
KatTai - Thanks for all your updates on Balgavies. I will be passing Forfar on my way from Dunblane to Aberdeen Sunday so will pop in - I have done so twice this season.
Then on to Aberdeenshire to take in three or four nests one I can name at Lochter.
Have fun Keith! The chicks are definitely getting a lot more active now!
Thank you KaiTai for more wonderful photos & the update on the chicks.

Thank You KaiTai for keeping us up to date and also for your lovely photographs too. Look forward to hearing your next update :-)
The chicks aren't far from fledging so I will have to try and get down more often over the next week or so! :D
That is great KatTai you are our on the spot reporter :-)
Maybe you could find out if they are going to ring the chicks this year or not, they didn't ring them last year, the feeling that I got from the chaps in the hide when I was there, that if they managed to ring and tag in 2012 they should have been able to ring them in 2013, however that was just their opinion :-)
I'll see if I can find our Mary! Don't often see the actual wardens around the reserve just other birdwatchers in the hide but maybe someone will know if they are or aren't ringed/going to be ringed this year.
There are no Loch of The Lowes chicks to tag this year so they tag a sibling of Blue YD.
