Almost a routine day yesterday, except none of us saw a fish delivery (did EJ catch her own when she had a long break early in the morning?) and EJ had to repel an intruder who had been singing and dancing for her - was it BlueXD, we wondered?
Tonight EJ sits peacefully on her 3 eggs - she just had a 2-minute stretch-and-flap but the stills are mostly very blurred, sadly.
I have personally asked her not to lay another egg, but her response was non-committal.
IMAGICAT
EJ's feathers are looking especially lovely in the sunlight:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
She's looking our way now:
Odin appears but I don't think that's fish in his talons:
He has flown.
Thanks everyone for the pics, sorry to see that the cam has been unreliable - am just going to look for a fish.
DAYCAM 0533hr:
.
Changeover @ 0600hr, repeat of yesterday where they didn't meet on the nest.
EJ got up and Odin could be seeing scooting by - he is the pale streak to the left of my screenshooter thingy that got left on the screen accidentally, but I've left it as a pointer:
So definitely no fish at that time, unless it's been left on a branch :-/
EJ was gone for nearly TWO HOURS :o So she must have been fishing for herself, surely!
I was going to shout "Fish @ 0943hr" but it was an inconsequential STICK!
Latest sighting of eggs - still just three - thank you EJ ;-)
Is EJ expecting a fish now? No, settled back on the eggs.
Yes... something's arrived...
FISH @ 1331hr !!!!!!!!
Scylla - Well only the V.Centre will know for sure if EJ has had a fish today. Would be nice to get a Fish Blog at the end of each day ... only a one liner saying 3 Fish today peeps! LOL... (Said in jest of course)
Just seen this little snippet of conversation on Aviemore Ospreys Facebook Page. Our Odin has found his way to the Lochan. Wish I had been sitting in that car :-)
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Brilliant Scylla - Glad to hear EJ has had a fish today! All happened as I was typing last post, as usual sods law.
