Very distressing

There is a follow-up here to yesterday's mass march in Inverness, and additional links. An amazing £26,800 has been raised to help fund those investigating the crimes. The RSPB put forward £5000, an anonymous donor doubled it, and the rest has been raised by public subscription - I understand.

Thanks for the link to the info on what happened in Inverness, SheilaFE, this is not something which will just be brushed under the carpet, thank goodness.
I've signed as well.
Regards,
Ian.

Also £12000 from a group of farmers, which is re-assuring
Thanks Thomo
There is a just giving page run by rspb also. On Friday it was near to £5k raised, probably way past that now.
Yes Lmac I made a donation, this has upset me sooo much
The failure to apprehend those responsible for this crime opens many questions which I don't think will be solved by monetary rewards.
At the top is the Scottish Government's commitment, or not, to provide appropriate legislation and if the vicarious liability is the answer, then the police have to investigate more thoroughly, appropriately, with more enthusiasm and conviction. To date, and to my knowledge no land owner has been held responsible for the actions of their game keepers.
I am so disappointed in the inability of the police and their lack of prioritisation regarding the perpetrators of wildlife crime.

I signed the petition yesterday, but now realise that it should be directed at the Scottish Government in Edinburgh, not the Westminster one. I think I am correct, but one would need to go into the Scottish Government powers to be sure.
