I carefully laid an egg today/I tidied the nest, come what may./When my man came, I failed to say/"Look, my dear, what comes of play"/When he returns I may admit/That on this egg I have been sit/But at least it's his, no doubt of it!!

And he flew off.  Just bonding I guess!
