What can I say that hasn't already been sad about our lovely pair. Dare I say everything here is proceeding "textbook" or is that tempting fate when we know how much ospreys like to throw out the textbooks?????????
As I looked in, handsome Odin was on the nest so, I am assuming, he had brought missus her breakfast. He is gone now.
EJ on nest now
Thanks for the new DU thread patily. Yes it looks very calm at Loch Garten.

Good morning. My bodyclock has gone diurnal, it does sometimes.
Thank you PATILY - both for starting the new DU and for daring to 'voice' the textbook thing, which I bet lots of us are thinking about.
I shall check the morning's events, if they are here.

Textbooks? What are they?
EJ has arrived. Quickly followed by Odin....who has making babies on his mind.
Good morning Scylla. You had me worried earlier!.Hope you caught up on some sleep.
Birdies LG DU update.
We can all start keeping a serious watch for eggs from today. I know it doesn't matter in the long term scheme of things but isn't it nice to know that all of them will be Odin's?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
EJ landed @ 0537hr, Odin followed shortly after and they mated.
EJ stayed on the nest and Odin flew in again to mate @ 0552hr.
EJ stayed on the nest thru DAYCAM @ 0556hr.
.
Odin joined EJ @ 0608hr and pottered until 0613hr, when he left and EJ followed him - Odin was back on the nest within seconds, he tended the nestcup and fences, nothing major, until 0622hr, when he took off during a blackage.
0628hr, and Odin flew straight into the nestcup, couldn't make up his mind what to do, EJ joined him on the nest and Odin flew around and back to mate, flew off EJ's back during a blackage @ 0630hr.
0643hr Odin flew into the nestcup again and stood around until a blackage occurred during which he could mate ;-) but we only missed the mounting. He flew off straight after and EJ shortly followed.
0647hr Odin flew into the nestcup with a short stick and got his foot caught in it.
EJ arrived and put the new short stick into the nestcup, Odin promptly placed on our edge of the nest, then EJ put some soft stuff into the nestcup. Odin left, EJ stayed.
There endeth... ;-) EJ is on the nest now.
Morning, TIGER, MIKE (thanks for thinking of me ;-) ) and CLARE.

Quite right, but I head for a black pit whenever I'm reminded of EJ and Odin's 'relationship' last year, so it did have long-term effects here! I keep counting our blessings and have to pinch myself that it's all gone so smoothly... so far!
'Morning all & many thanks Scylla for potted history/vids/pics to get us all up to date with todays' events!
