Our couple were early birds this morning - Odin, I think, landed @ 0504hr, maybe having seen/heard something that I couldn't; EJ shortly after - did he flap hostilely? - they stayed a minute or two, then left, Odin first.
I had a good look just in case there was a backpack on either but couldn't see anything.

I was blaming EJ for spoiling Odin's beautiful nest and nestcup - but it was Odin who brought in that spiky strawy stuff :o EJ merely tried to make it comfortable. She gave some lovely cheeps at take-off time.
Hello everyone! Do you know what bird is that is singing/calling in the background? I'm trying to learn to ID bird songs and calls. Not easy!

... and of course it has stopped singing the moment I posted that question :-/
EJ back on nest 11.57 with a sweet contact chirrup, bless her
Both on nest, EJ arrived 12.08, Odin a minute after EJ, empty taloned (taloned? Is that a word?) Nothing in his talons.
Mating at 12.10
Can't help with the birdsong noc, I'm trying to learn too, but find it so difficult!
ODIN! Enough with the love her and leave her routine. Man up and get your wife a fish! EJ is being remarkably forebearing

He didn't listen to you, Chocoholix, sorry. Mating again at 12.16!
I know!
I think the birdsong is some kind of tit, great tit perhaps? Plenty of those at LG anyway! But not sure
Hi noc, have you tried the rspb website for bird song? My mum and I have been trying to learn how to id them too and found it very useful. but I do tend to type into google what does a great tit sound like, then go to the rspb website and select the letter G and listen to the great tit song. It is a very good tool. sorry I cant help as I was upstairs when you posted
Seagull, do you mean the bird description pages that have also the sound files? Or is there a specific page for bird songs? I listen to them sometimes, but if I don't have any idea of what bird I'm hearing outside, it's quite difficult to find it there. Anyway, I think it takes a lot of time.
It's true noc! You have to know what bird you think you've heard in order to check. Someone needs to invent an app where you can use a sound recording and it matches the pattern in a database. That would be a fantastic way to be able to learn!
All quiet at LG at the moment
