HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Welcome to all new and returning folks! Nice to see everyone!
Last week's chat thread is here: http://www.rspb.org.uk/community/placestovisit/lochgartenospreys/f/915/p/110807/847720.aspx#847720. The code for this week's thread is WC300314.
Past data would suggest that Odin will arrive this week. Of course, we know that his rival Blue XD is well on his way back.
Today, Sunday, is the New Moon. Today's moon is special for two reasons: (1) It's the second New Moon in a month, which some folks call a Black Moon or a Blue Moon, and (2) this moon will produce a lunar eclipse on the night of April 14-15 when it becomes full. The lunar eclipse will be partial in the U.K. and total in the U.S.http://earthsky.org/tonight/total-lunar-eclipse-for-the-americas-on-night-of-april-14-15
I hope everyone has a great spring week!
(Sorry, since I changed computers, I can't make smart/posh links.)
Hi Diane - another night owl here! BST has started - it will be nice to have daylight to about 20.00hrs+ - makes a lot of people feel human again! Wonder if we will get fun and games on the nest this week! Weather here has been sunny and really good for the last few days, but the wind has been quite cold and the temp drops quite rapidly after the sun disappears.
Evening all: Got lots done today then had BBQ'd chicken and baked salmon plus various bits and pieces for dinner (the sort of stuff that will be good cold for the next couple of days). Friend was back in time to join us - she'd been at the hospital for more than 24 hours!! - and we had a lovely relaxing few hours before she fell into bed. Her bro is coming along but will have a ways to go before things are "normal" plus he's having stents and possibly a defibrillator inserted on Monday.
Went off t yoga and plan to work in the garden tomorrow.
Diane: Thanks for starting us off - so good of you.
LizLFW: Hi and bye, I'm off to bed. Hope the time change doesn't mess up your schedule.
Hi, Liz! Nice to see you. Wow, 20 hours of daylight would be lovely. Our days aren't that long here. Right now, the sun rises about 7:30 a.m. and sets a little after 8:00 p.m. The days will get a bit longer as the season progresses. It's supposed to be warmer this week. I need to get outdoors and do some clean up on my yard/garden before the grass starts to grow. I've got brush lying everywhere.
Hello to everyone!
Hi, Annette. You were typing while I was. Have a good day gardening. Get some rest and relaxation, too!
Di - I meant 8pm (20.00hrs) for daylight lasting until - sorry, used to 24hr clock. If your sun sets a little after 20.00hrs, does this mean you have changed time already, or don't you have so called summertime?
Liz: Sorry, I misread your post. I guess I was thinking about how much further north you are than me. I'm not very sharp tonight. :-))) Yup, we've already changed time. We change to "Daylight Saving Time" on the second Sunday in March every year and change back in November. Some folks here hate the time change so there's a big fight in our state legislature almost every year. LOL
Hi, all. I meant to say that the big orange-coloured rabbit was sitting by my car at sunset last night. She's the rabbit who had the babies in a hole next to my house last year (but they were eaten by the foxes). I was glad to see that she survived the harsh winter. I don't know how she avoids R.T. Hawk. She must be too big for him to consider as prey. She's a big beautiful bunny. Her orange fur looked thick and lovely. She didn't run from me, just froze and looked at me. I reminded her not to chew on the car.
Good Morning ALL,
Lovely to see Linda is now back home and enjoying her husband's Birthday weekend.
Liz, You really were a Night Owl last night. Hope you are having a good sleep now :-))
Diane, Thank you for starting the week once again. So pleased that your orange rabbit has survived the winter and that you have warned her about your car.
Annette, Don't work too hard in the garden. Sounds as if your friend may stay with you longer than you first thought, due to her brother's further treatment on Monday.
It was a beautiful day here, yesterday. We spent a few hours removing the most from between the bricks on the front drive. Still more to do today. Started off sunny this morning, but there is some cloud now. Hope the sun returns. Great to have the house to ourselves with no decorators around until 8am tomorrow.
Forgot to say: Welcome back Lindy! Woo hoo! Hi, Brenda!
Just checked back on yesterday's posts.
Patricia, Really lovely to see a post from you at last :-))
Trish, I hope you don't feel too bad this morning after 5 hours of pressure washing but I would think you are so pleased as you look out at your sparkling clean patio.
Dibnlib, I did laugh at the "50 shades of hay. " Lovely photographs of Allanfearn and handsome Benson. He does have a very expressive face,
The sun is out again so back to work outside.
Hi Diane. I think everyone must be enjoying the lovely weather here.
