Many of you may remember Carl Sagan's popular Cosmos television series. The program is returning, hosted by handsome and charming nerd scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it promises to be astounding! The new show, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, will explore the wonders of the universe using cutting edge technology, advanced animation, and new modes of storytelling.
The new Cosmos is expensive and wildly ambitious. It will be broadcast in 170 countries and in 45 languages, the largest global opening for a television series ever.
In the U.K.: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast by U.K. National Geographic Channel.
In the U.S.: The show premieres this Sunday (9 March) at 9:00 p.m. and will be simulcast on the National Geographic Channels and the Fox network channels.
In Australia: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:30 p.m. on Australia National Geographic Channel.
I couldn't find the information for France. Sorry!
You can get more background information in this article. I highly recommend this series.
Hello, CLARE - can I send you my ironing now?
HEATHER - first Tulip and first fritillary spotted today - and lots more buds nearly open!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good evening everyone - Glad to hear that Brenda has been having nice gardening weather today, sorry about the 'Ouch' part ! I know all about that ! we have had pouring rain and high winds here yesterday, I had left a basket full of prunings, etc., ready to take down to the compost heap and when I woke up in the morning it had blown about all over the garden , what a mess ! It has not been much better today, very cold wind , I could'nt face gardening although lots to do.
OG - Glad you enjoyed your visit to the Farmers Market, I used to go to one in Dingwall but it has been cancelled now due to lack of support.
Heather - I hope you have enjoyed you visit to Elgin, and had a nice meal out. I agree with you, I would rather take the train than the bus.
Alan - A lovely picture of Bowie, what a handsome little dog he is becoming !
I took some photos in the garden a couple of days ago and these are especially for Margo and anybody else who needs a little bit of cheering up -
Sorry, these two did'nt post the first time round
Heather - Ours posts crossed, glad you had a nice meal in Elgin. My daffodils are not out yet and my tulips are nowhere near showing buds yet! Although I think mine are probably late flowering ones, I can't remember what I planted now!
Beautiful pics,RITA, we don't have anything as bonny, here!
Our tulips are not quite as good as usual, we have buds but I think some will be blind. I think OH bought the ones in our oblong planter at the Moy Game Fair last year. If they aren't good, then no more from there-- which is a bit harsh, it could be due to weather!
