Many of you may remember Carl Sagan's popular Cosmos television series. The program is returning, hosted by handsome and charming nerd scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it promises to be astounding! The new show, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, will explore the wonders of the universe using cutting edge technology, advanced animation, and new modes of storytelling.
The new Cosmos is expensive and wildly ambitious. It will be broadcast in 170 countries and in 45 languages, the largest global opening for a television series ever.
In the U.K.: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast by U.K. National Geographic Channel.
In the U.S.: The show premieres this Sunday (9 March) at 9:00 p.m. and will be simulcast on the National Geographic Channels and the Fox network channels.
In Australia: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:30 p.m. on Australia National Geographic Channel.
I couldn't find the information for France. Sorry!
You can get more background information in this article. I highly recommend this series.
Sorry Limpy. I still like your photograph though.
I really must be more observant. The size alone should have been obvious !!!!!
ALICAT - best wishes for the new job. Is it similar to your previous one? ie personal carer.
Alan, I was looking for more than just the Tory and LD names, but don't worry, they are being e- mailed to me. I want to see the whole picture .
Heather, I got a PM from you, so it wasn't that one LOL.
The hacksaw can't be in the washing machine !!
Thank you for the news of Alisa. I still remember her in my prayers.
Had a good lunch at Gardenwise. Bought one shrub, one herb and one other plant. Then did grocery shopping. All took a long time, so I am rather tired this evening.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG Shopping is tiring I find, these days, and I don't have your physical problems xx I wonder what herb you purchased. Don't even think of replying, I will hear about it hopefully when you are next online.
Little ones in Elgin seem to be quite looking forward to my visit. Is it me or is it the treats that I am allowed to give them? Don't answer, lol
HEATHER - it's a Sage - last one was looking past its best. Just the plain bluish-green culinary version, not a decorative one. New shrub is a Forsythia; we are moving Sambucca to a new location so OH wanted to replace it, and my very old Forsythia (grown by me from a cutting)went beyond normal pruning last year. Other plant is one of those perennial things like a Wallflower - Erythemum, I think it is called. Enjoy your time with the two little girls!
Hello All - what lovely sunny weather we have had for the last two or three days, I even sat out side in the sunshine while having breaks from gardening and it was quite warm! I have also been sorting out plants in the conservatory, they are coming on very well now. I am very pleased with my lemon tree, and will soon be able to eat the lemons! My olive tree has masses of buds all over it, which is very early, I dont know whether they will develop into fruit. Here are some pictures.
Heather, You are allowed to spoil them, which I am sure you do. They are looking forward to your visit..............and the treats.
OH watching football. I am bored !
Rita, Plenty of lemons ! I was surprised when a neighbour insisted that I see how many lemons he has on his tree. He says he hasn't had so many lemons for some years and I will have to take some when they are ready. His olive tree is also covered in buds. Lovely to see your photographs.
