HAPPY NEW WEEK!!!

It's almost spring! I have never been so glad to see spring in all my life!

Many of you may remember Carl Sagan's popular Cosmos television series. The program is returning, hosted by handsome and charming nerd scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it promises to be astounding! The new show, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey,  will explore the wonders of the universe using cutting edge technology, advanced animation, and new modes of storytelling.

The new Cosmos is expensive and wildly ambitious. It will be broadcast in 170 countries and in 45 languages, the largest global opening for a television series ever.

In the U.K.: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast by U.K. National Geographic Channel

In the U.S.: The show premieres this Sunday (9 March) at 9:00 p.m. and will be simulcast on the National Geographic Channels and the Fox network channels.

In Australia: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:30 p.m. on Australia National Geographic Channel

I couldn't find the information for France. Sorry!

You can get more background information in this article. I highly recommend this series.

  • BRENDA Thank you. I will wait to hear online from MARGO and not phone her. My thoughts are with her and her devoted OH.

Bookcase arrived and unfortunately faulty. The holes for adjusting shelves were missing on one side. The delivery boys were embarrassed since it had been put together in the warehouse. So, Ogilvies, Inverness I am NOT a happy bunny. We have to wait 3 to 4 weeks for a replacement.

  • OG, it's so wonderful to see you - Limpy and I are sending you lots of hugs!

Margo, we're both thinking of you as well.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • OG, So pleased to see your post with such cheerful Spring flowers. Love the owl too,

Heather, Love the repartee with OG, re 'Calm Down'. Sorry about the bookcase. Extremely annoying.

Diane. What a wonderful video to watch. I was quite disappointed when it ended.

  • Margo: I'm sorry that you didn't receive the news you hoped for. My thoughts are with you.

Clare: I looked at your last photos; they are wonderful!

OG: Nice to see you. Loved your flowers and the owl!

Brenda: Hope your broadband gets sorted.

Heather: I think you've been very good to S, showing great compassion, and your intention was positive. I don't think I'd worry about the plate.

Annette: I just watched the new Cosmos on Hulu. I thought it was fabulous. I think you will like it.

    Everyone have a good week.

  • Thanks Brenda for the info re Margo, she is having a rough time of it, bless her.  My thoughts and prayers are with her.

  • Oh Heather what a mishap, do hope nephew will understand and that S will be understanding too.  Hope S had a lovely birthday despite the mishap.

  • OG lovely to hear from you again and glad you have managed to get into the garden.   Still too damp here to mow the lawn but hopeful in a day or two if the weather keeps dry.

Lovely to read all your news folks.

  • Evening all:

AQ: I second Brenda's advice to go out to coffee more often!

Heather:  Nice to hear that S's nephew not too bothered about the chipped china; hope you're more relaxed too.  Aaack. So much for feeling relaxed after faulty bookcase event. Grrrrr.

OG: Great to see you, especially bearing cheery daffodils!

Diane: Now that's a use of drones I could get behind!  Marvelous video. Thanks! I've actually been on a boat in the midst of thousands of dolphins on the move. Quite an experience. Alas, haven't seen whales from above.   Watched the new Cosmos last night.  Will be interesting to see how it develops; not sure about the cartoon character (Giordano Bruno).

Brenda: Thanks so much for passing on news from Margo.  Will be interested to hear of next steps.

A busy couple of days ahead before g'daughter and Ms. D arrive for Ms D's third b'day!!  In the meantime, above-average temps and ongoing lack of rain makes it seem more like the end of summer than spring...   :-(

    Take care all.

  • Good morning, all!  OG, it was lovely to see you back yesterday - both Limpy and I hope the news from Margo improves.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • YES! Another gardening day today.

Brenda - thanks for news of Margo - sorry it was not as good as she hoped.  Will PM her.

Went to Gardening Group last evening - interesting illustrated talk of a member couple's project to build a garden from scratch; they left it behind in Aberdeenshire when they moved here!

Bird Club this evening and an Arts event Friday - busy week.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
