Many of you may remember Carl Sagan's popular Cosmos television series. The program is returning, hosted by handsome and charming nerd scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it promises to be astounding! The new show, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, will explore the wonders of the universe using cutting edge technology, advanced animation, and new modes of storytelling.
The new Cosmos is expensive and wildly ambitious. It will be broadcast in 170 countries and in 45 languages, the largest global opening for a television series ever.
In the U.K.: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast by U.K. National Geographic Channel.
In the U.S.: The show premieres this Sunday (9 March) at 9:00 p.m. and will be simulcast on the National Geographic Channels and the Fox network channels.
In Australia: The show premieres next Sunday (16 March) at 7:30 p.m. on Australia National Geographic Channel.
I couldn't find the information for France. Sorry!
You can get more background information in this article. I highly recommend this series.
Unknown said:Limpy your last Monday smile is just about true as there are that many different cycles on washing machines I keep the instruction booklet close to find out what cycle I have to use.
LOL George. We all have that problem. I have about three cycles, I use regularly and have never used most of the others. I did notice that you were having a wet and windy weekend. Enjoy the sunshine.
Dibnlib, When our son was two years old, we were told that he was allergic to dogs but we could have a poodle. My OH said that if we never had a dog, he would not be seen walking a poodle, with those stupid pom pom haircuts !!!
We later proved that our son was allergic to cats, not dogs, so we were able to have a labrador :-))
So right, Dibnlib. That is why we love them. LOL
Message from Linda.

BRENDA So glad you were able to have a lab friend. I once saw a poodle parked!! outside M&S and thought how beautiful it was. I thought at first it was the apricot colour that made me think this. it as only a little later on I realised it was because the dog hadn't been clipped into a pop pom version. I believe they are very intelligent dogs and are sometimes used to help people with difficulties, but still not for me.
A story of yesterday morning. A lady near us has 4 rescue Greyhounds and she also volunteers for the society as a home checker. When we had Dillon we would meet up and chat on the dog walk with no problem, but yesterday I was just ahead of her and Benson turned as if to say "hello". I called him and at the same time she called out "No Benson pet, no". I then remembered when I was talking to her with Dillon that there was a small dog coming towards us and she made her excuses saying "there is a small dog coming towards us that these will want to chase. Benson now falls into this category, so I will beware. OH says he has seen her take evading tactics many times. She has my admiration for taking on these dogs, some of whom do have problems and will make sure that Benson doesn't give them any problems to contend with.
Hi Dibnlib
