    Enjoyed our walk - breezy so it blew away a few cobwebs! Expect to be kept in by showers tomorrow, & intend to sit & watch the Olympic Closing Ceremony. Heather - See you lost your post, sorry, but I see it was very late at the time! Hope all went well with your visitors. Diane - Just reread your post & it sounds pretty scary, that bad weather. So glad you are all in one piece, & hope your house is not too damp. Looked at that article on the earthquakes - very interesting. On Lanzarote, where we were only last November, there is an excellent exhibition explaining a lot of the mechanics of the quakes and what all the different kinds of rocks you can see all around, are formed by. Fascinating! AQ - Visions of you on all fours!! Glad your daughter & twins doing well.

    I don't know what happened to my post, it was all done but when I went into Rich Formatting, nothing happened. I tried a few times and eventually gave up. Strange that the next, shorter post went through OK. I was overtired, the family left at 1.30 am, and I was wide awake until 3 in the morning!!

    Our friends left at 8 this morning. The family meal last night was rather riotous but very enjoyable, everyone seemed to enjoy the Danish Kolde Bord. Most of the food was familiar but presented differently. The cured herrings in curry sauce proved more popular than I expected.Most of the family tried the Danish schnapps,which you apparently throw down your throat (only a liqueur glass)and follow with lager ---I was boring and stuck to wine!

    I'll be back tomorrow and hopefully make proper replies.

    We usually have a cover on the sofa when Bowie is on it. He has only just been able to jump up onto the sofa and chairs.

    The Birmingham anti badger cull demo seemed to go well today and was reported on ITV and BBC. Once again BBC tried to play it down by saying there were less there than expected but it looked like there were thousands rather than hundreds, according to reports on twitter some locals joined in so the word is spreading. Next march is in St Albans the Exeter and then Newcastle.

    Activists have leafleted 750 homes in the marginal constituency of Cardiff North with anti tory flyers.

    Sensible of you.  When Limpy used to have a cockatoo we used to have to cover anything it might land on....their beaks are very sharp!!

    Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

    Diane, do hope you survived the storm system and that you are not flooded out. Hope the GHO managed to hunt through the bad weather.

    AQ - glad to hear the weather has become more tolerable although you seem to be having quite a time with LittleMiss.

    Lindybird - as I tuned in just now pics I posted were OK.

    Alan - laid back Bowie, he's lovely.

    Been a lovely spring-like day here.  Went to MK with dau. and found it a doddle. We parked in the Park'nRide, picked up the bus which dropped us outside the shopping centre. Takes all the hastle of trying to find the centre in a car with all those roundabouts.   Went into JL - my my, knew it was an expensive store but some of the prices took your breath away.  £40 for a pair of plimsoles!!!!!!   Still had a nice time and had a Costa coffee and cookie to finish with.
