Osprey sightings 2014

As you say, we'll have to wait & see. I just thought it odd that there were no sightings in the last 15 days on any of these sites & then 3 in one weekend.

We found out  a bit about ospreys on La Palma last autumn, when a tracked Finnish bird, Lalli, called in there - see this blog

Yes it was my sighting and a surprising one at that.

I guess if it was wintering the temp of 20c and abundance of food(marina teaming with fish)would make for easy living. It came for the direction of a fish farm about 1km north of Puerto Tazacorte.

With the sparsely populated rugged coastline maybe it/they may go unnoticed. I did want to talk to a local fisherman but unfortunately there was no time before we headed back to La Gomera.

Coming from the Isle of Wight I have seen numerous Ospreys at Newtown Creek while on stopover during migration.
