The team are off to The Gambia on 7/1/2014 and Tim's latest Blog gives all the details. Watch this space.
Birdies LG DU update.
I know Patily and the season is only beginning !!!
The egg was uncovered for 20 mins altogether, while Blue28 was fidgeting over it and while it was left alone.
This is Blue28's 13-minute fidgety stint, I didn't know "you lot" ;-) were watching so I left that part uncut:
I also had a still to illustrate "this is the nearest Blue28 got to incubating", but I see it's been well illustrated above ;-)
IMAGICAT
I think the eggs can withstand cooling this early in incubation. Incubation is often patchy in the first few days which may be why the first egg takes longer to hatch. In Dyfi 2011 the 2nd egg overtook the 1st.

Snap! Mary, we are so lucky to watch several nests, and I enjoy discovering the different temperaments, poor Maya is such a contrast to calm Lady.
Settled to incubate. Good morning all.

I guess she will be nervous SK2 - having a new younger male. :-)
Morning Mike
This is so frustrating. Twice I have thought Maya was about to lay and each time she's moved I can't see and now the male has come in with an enormous clump of material which she is pulling apart and throwing over the egg!!.
What on earth is Maya doing??? she has completely covered the Eggg whilst shredding a Big clump, even himself is questioning her actions CHOL:):
