Breagh, last to leave, may not be as hungry as we think, since he may be fishing for himself, and we will not see it. Will Odin's apparent departure spur him on to leave on migration south for 2-3 yrs? ENS to come for fall, winter and part of spring... until EJ and Odin return. May they be safe.

Breagh did not have a fish - I'm not sure of how often they need to eat at this stage so I made the rather dangerous assumption he must have eaten at some point in the last 2 days.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Tiger, thanks for that snippet. What are your plans for today, I see the camera is panning searching for Cerist again. Off to the other channel to see if they have found her.

Tiger - Was not Deshar left home alone from when OVS left 15/8 and he arrived at Folkestone 25/8. Ten Days - No Food I bet he was starving.
EJ went 14/8.
Thanks Clare - was not sure reading thro if anyone had seen Odin.

That is pretty much how I remember it. Orange VS ate a fish in front of the chicks and left. Nethy got the hint after two days while Deshar waited four before taking off. He then flew to a pond near Folkestone where he no doubt developed his fishing skills. Then as we all know his navigation skills let him down. He still made an amazing flight.

Hi, Keith - I hadn't thought about any differences between male and female fledge/migrate and I'm glad you named our last four offspring from this nest :-)

This is the alarm call/squeal that sounded like Odin's. Several seconds waiting-time, mustn't make video too short.
I was just thinking back on what a wonderful season it's been for Limpy and myself - we've managed to visit four different nests this year! We'll do very well indeed to manage two next year, unless any of the local poles going up get occupied quickly.
I have always wondered how long an Osprey can go without food and refer to MORAY who was severely weakened when recovered on Lewis. He did leave early though only three weeks after fledge.
