This is a new thread to follow the travels of these three young ospreys from the Loch Garten nest.
Oighrig
This male juvenile is the elder of the 2013 brood, hatched on 25th May and fledged on 16th July.
Oighrig’s ring is Blue/white CF5
Breagha
Also male, the younger of the 2013 brood, hatched 28th May and fledged on 19th July.
Breagha’s ring is Blue/white CF4.

Caledonia
Hatched on 16th May 2012, fledged on 14th July and left Loch Garten on 19th August.
The travels of Caledonia and her sister Alba were first followed in this thread, now closed. Caledonia is the first juvenile osprey tracked from Loch Garten to settle in Europe; she has been living on the northern outskirts of Seville for nearly a year now.
Caledonia’s ring is Blue/White AA1, reading downwards. LG blog on the ringing and tagging of Caledonia & Alba.
He seems to be an opportunist but hopefully he is staying clear of humans as much as possible.
There is a new blog
Tiger Signature
Thanks TIGER We seem to have had a long wait but at least all is well
Good to see the birds are doing well.
A new BLOG has just been posted
Thanks, Patily!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Yes Lowry it is so good to hear that all three LG birds are doing well, long may that continue, especially as the months go by and it gets closer to time for Caledonia returning, of course she may decided to stay in Spain, whatever she decides to do Spain, Scotland or wherever I hope she prospers.

Just copying a post I made in the blog comments, in response to Mike wondering about Breagha's movements:
************************************************************************************************
Thanks for the update. I have been looking for clues about Breagha’s daytime routine.
You may know this, but firstly in Google Earth, if you have the Status Bar selected in the View menu, the bar at the bottom of the screen shows the imagery date, co-ordinates and elevation for the cursor position. If you zoom in on the area Breagha is visiting, the imagery date is July 2011; early in the wet season, but in a year which we heard had lower than average rainfall, and before much rain water would have come down the Senegal river. If you move the cursor around, the elevation differs between the greyish patches, which are not much above sea level, and the sandier, scrub-covered areas which are generally at altitude 10-20 metres.
This Panoramio image, taken from a plane, shows the same area and does show pools; it doesn’t say what time of year it was taken.
This slideshow has some great photos of the south of Mauritania looking surprisingly green after the rains.
This photo from it might give an idea of what it’s like in Breagha’s area currently; the locality of Toumbos seems to be close to his roost area.
So in conclusion – I think he’s visiting seasonal pools, which would currently have water and fish in them. Bynack seemed to behave in a similar way in this area in Autumn 2011.
New update on all 3 - all well with little movement. Long may it continue.
Thanks TEMPO I am so relieved I thought we were going to hear some bad news as the update was overdue Phew!
