This is a new thread to follow the travels of these three young ospreys from the Loch Garten nest.
Oighrig
This male juvenile is the elder of the 2013 brood, hatched on 25th May and fledged on 16th July.
Oighrig’s ring is Blue/white CF5
Breagha
Also male, the younger of the 2013 brood, hatched 28th May and fledged on 19th July.
Breagha’s ring is Blue/white CF4.

Caledonia
Hatched on 16th May 2012, fledged on 14th July and left Loch Garten on 19th August.
The travels of Caledonia and her sister Alba were first followed in this thread, now closed. Caledonia is the first juvenile osprey tracked from Loch Garten to settle in Europe; she has been living on the northern outskirts of Seville for nearly a year now.
Caledonia’s ring is Blue/White AA1, reading downwards. LG blog on the ringing and tagging of Caledonia & Alba.
Sheila thanks for the BTO link, very sad pictures of Caledonia. She looked in such good condition. Gone but not forgotten.

I think the answer is that fog can be patchy around rivers, and can lie at different levels.
On the last day I was in Seville - Fri Dec 27th - we crossed the Guadalquivir channel via Puente Cristo de la Expiracion, to go for a walk in Triana district. At ground level, visibility was fairly good, but from the bridge, we realised we could only see halfway up the nearby Cajasol Tower - the top half was shrouded in fog.
When Richard first broke the news about Caledonia, I imagined he was going to be telling us that she had collided with something like that - not a building which had been there for centuries.
There is now a report about Caledonia, in Spanish, on the website of SEO Birdlife (the RSPB's counterparts in Spain) - here
It has some additional information - especially the explanation of how a recovery team was put together, via social media, over a holiday weekend.
Query to the Mods and RSPB IT staff
The SEO article gives a link back to Loch Garten's tracking page.
When I go to it via the link, the tracking map does not display at all. This might be down to browser peculiarities, as it happens with Google Chrome but not MS Internet Explorer.
If I go to the tracking page via the RSPB site, the map is shown, but not any of the ospreys' routes. This occurs with both Chrome AND IE. If I look at the tracking page for Mull Eagles, which seems to be done in exactly the same way, the routes ARE shown. Can you help?
Thanks for the link to the SEO Birdlife report. Google kindly translated it for me, without my asking!
LG Tracking page: it is the same for me Sue. I click on the bird's name and the page scrolls down to a blank.

Tracking page seems to be ok now.

Doggie thank you, but wish i'd not looked more bad news.
I feel quite heartbroken to put this link up.
It's certainly bad news, but perhaps the tracker has fallen off, there is a possibility so don't give up hope.
Best wishes

There has often been comments made of the possibility of a tracker falling off, but have we ever had any evidence that this has actually happened? Certainly trackers fail, ie Red 8T, but that's not the same thing at all. I just can't make any sense of it. Oighrigh seemed to be doing so well. I can't check it on GE as our new virus checker causes a problem which the company is apparently aware of.
