This is a new thread to follow the travels of these three young ospreys from the Loch Garten nest.
Oighrig
This male juvenile is the elder of the 2013 brood, hatched on 25th May and fledged on 16th July.
Oighrig’s ring is Blue/white CF5
Breagha
Also male, the younger of the 2013 brood, hatched 28th May and fledged on 19th July.
Breagha’s ring is Blue/white CF4.

Caledonia
Hatched on 16th May 2012, fledged on 14th July and left Loch Garten on 19th August.
The travels of Caledonia and her sister Alba were first followed in this thread, now closed. Caledonia is the first juvenile osprey tracked from Loch Garten to settle in Europe; she has been living on the northern outskirts of Seville for nearly a year now.
Caledonia’s ring is Blue/White AA1, reading downwards. LG blog on the ringing and tagging of Caledonia & Alba.
Excellent news. Interesting that one of the boys is in France and one is in Morocco
Looking in more detail on Google Earth.....
Breagha's latest positions, on the 5th, were on the Loire, between the little town of Chouze-sur-Loire, and Chinon nuclear power plant.
I did manage to find a video on Youtube, showing the riverside at Chouze. The presenter appears to be walking a pilgrimage route in the steps of St. Martin of Tours.
Oighrig meanwhile was camped in the desert, not far from the Richat structure
Re Breagh in France.
It must make it easy to do night fishing around the nuclear power station, well, the fish will glow in the dark....Ha Ha! Actually I used to live on the Bristol channel as a child & all our local prawns went to live in the water near Hinkley point as the water was warmer. So maybe that affects the bigger fish too.
Best wishes

Whena re the next set of transmissions in? Would like to see Oighrig out of where he is!

Next download is due sometime today.
Thanks Sue - will be happy to see them and hope that he has got safely out of the desert. He must be very hungry.
