Chat Extravaganza Sunday Feb 21st

Here I am, awaiting the snow machine to crank up again Sunday afternoon. Expecting 8 to 12 inches new snow on top of 3 or 4 we still have from last storm. Oh bother!  Can you tell I'm not very enthused?????

So to pick up from the last of our thread:

Annette:  Do tell us how the Pale Male movie was, please.

Some fascinating new news on the Peregrine Falcon front from Derby Cathedral (it's snowing there as I watch at 11:15 p.m. Chicago time) where they've finally let us in on the secret hinted at in the blog from last month.

I believe I'm off for the night now. Happy Sunday to all!

  • Oh AQ:  I know the "usual take over" bit - except with my lot it's - or used to be - the computer, washer/dryer (both still popular with grandson), the shower (we have nice big newly remodeled bathrooms) and whatever's in the fridge!  Hope they don't wear you out and that jumpers (sweaters?) are appreciated.

  • Oh my I was not expecting a peregine egg in San Francisco just yet. That is quick.

  • Good Morning All,

I can't see any pictures this morning since Alan's lovely picture of Bodnant. Will have to try later.

AQ & Annette, I was looking forward to having grandchildren, but your posts do make me think. As I have heard  people say though, you can always hand grandchildren back to the parents and they do go home. I am sure there are so many joys as well though, and you are proud of them.

We have had rain again overnight but dry at the moment. Forecast looks bad tonight and tomorrow though. More heavy rain and gales. The ground can't take any more. Fields are already flooded and water is streaming onto the roads. I feel so sorry for the people in parts of Scotland. It look horrendous, and some of them, still have no power.

Chile earthquake, 8.8 must have been so frightening and now they are talking of a Tsunami. Poor people. Makes you realise how lucky we are in the UK.

    All enjoy your day.

(Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland! ) I hear you have had and are about to have more masses of snow today. I truly hope the power in your neck of the woods keeps uninterrupted !!

Auntie  is there a link for the Black Water Eagle cam?

OG  yes, thank you keeping cheerful and about to go out hiking.

Terry M  Know what you mean !!!  My sister lives in Workington (idle piece of info).

Alan so pleased about Hamish (hefty sigh of relief and trust I shall make one for Margobird very shortly).

    Annette enjoy the concert!

And to everyone else, a big smile and warmest wishes for what I hope will be a really good day for you.

Which San Francisco nest Alan? I have heard no news of an egg yet at SCPBRG.

Appio and Vergine now have 2 eggs :)

  • Just popped in to say a quick hello to all and say how much I value the support I am getting.  It helps a lot and with all the positive thoughts coming over hopefully this will not be anything to worry about.  OH is being so positivie for me as well and it taking me out for a meal tomorrow night to my favourite Chinese restaurant and that will help take my mind off things.

Weather overnight and first thing this morning absolutely dire.  Heavy rain and hail too, talk about crazy weather.  I keep saying to our ospreys please don't come back yet.

Have a good weekend to all of you and once again thanks so much.

  • Morning all - no snow here as I am on the coast - but plenty of rain. It has been raining for 48 hours and the fields were already flooded. No power cuts although the lights were flickering a lot last night. The power was off a few miles away, but that was because the copper components at the sub-station were stolen - shame the thieves weren't electrocuted (or am I not allowed to say that!! )

Great news about the peregrine eggs.

Cirrus - enjoy your hike, it wouldn't be much fun hiking around here today!

Margobird - enjoy your Chinese meal, glad your OH is being so good

Thanks for all the chat/ pics/ info etc

    Take care all
