Here I am, awaiting the snow machine to crank up again Sunday afternoon. Expecting 8 to 12 inches new snow on top of 3 or 4 we still have from last storm. Oh bother! Can you tell I'm not very enthused?????
So to pick up from the last of our thread:
Annette: Do tell us how the Pale Male movie was, please.
Some fascinating new news on the Peregrine Falcon front from Derby Cathedral (it's snowing there as I watch at 11:15 p.m. Chicago time) where they've finally let us in on the secret hinted at in the blog from last month.

I believe I'm off for the night now. Happy Sunday to all!
Morning all from TI,
Awoke this morning to heavy snow. Several inches but now it has stopped and is thawing slowly. No missions planned for today so it will be footie on the tele for me.
Lindybird: I am sorry you are feeling unwell and I hope you are better soon.
Tiger : Sad osprey story. I suppose it is inevitable when they nest so close to people.
Here is a joke to cheer everyone up or not as the case may be:
Paddy and Murphy are on a cruise ship.Paddy says "its awfully quiet on deck tonight". Murphy says "everybody will be watching the band". Paddy says "there isn't a band playing tonight" so Murphy says "I definately heard someone say a band on ship"
Glastonbury starlings pretend they are a giant bunny:

Morning all. Haven't been online for a couple of days so had much to read.
Lindybird Keep warm and coddle yourself. Winter wonderlands aren't the places for people who are feeling poorly!
As for your joke, I heard something similar in a list of definitions - 'Abandon Ship' - music is always pleasant on a cruise. But yours is better, even if it is getting at the Irish!
Patriciat : Lady P is Irish and the joke came via her so not really getting at the Irish. I wouldn't dare.
Lovely changeover at Norfolk Botanical eagles. It looked like they had a chat first:
Lovely pic of them having a chat, Alan.
Thanks for everyone's good wishes- I'm sure I'll be fine if I keep warm & take it easy for a bit.
Annette, I have just checked out Stella Mare’s and I am coming too, although I think I’m a bit late to come with you to the film now! Fantastic building and brill French menus. Hope you enjoyed the film(s). Couldn’t get on here yesterday so we’re still having troubles.
Caerann, thanks for the peregrines on Derby cathedral, great footage of hunting at night and the rest. Fancy peregrines leaving their prey that long before eating, does it taste better hung?? Also enjoyed the kingfishers, I’ve only seen two kingfishers in my life. Google translated druk, druk, druk as busy, busy, busy, it also translated 12/03 item as “nibbling using knobbelzwaan”, which I guessed before I watched it was a swan’s beak (I was right!)
AQ loving SA history. I’m now thinking I should copy it into word to read again later but I would have to go back and find all your entries. :((
We had a little light snow last evening and some more a couple of hours ago, nothing much to mention really though.
Terry in Cumbria
Afternoon everyone. Its a beautiful sunny but cold day in Dundee. Been following the chat on and off recently but work and family commitments keep me too busy to post regularly. Last night we went up to Aberdeen to take younger daughter and two friends to a rock concert by a young people's band called Hadouken. Steed and I killed time by going the cinema and saw Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief - Pierce Brosnan, Sean Bean to name a few of the cast. I quite enjoyed it but not Steed's cup of tea at all. Full of CGI and Pierce is half-man half horse. Too far fetched for us! On the return journey at about 11.15pm the temperature dipped to minus 11.5 degrees. Never seen the temp guage in the car so low before! Of course it gradually improved as we drove south to minus 4.5 degrees in Dundee at about 11.45pm but it makes you realise just how difficult it is for the wildlife this winter. The nights are giving us extremely low temperatures. Hope you are all enjoying a restful Sunday.
hope you get this photo of Loch an Eileian down near Aviemore and therefore just a few miles from LG. It is 40 mins from home and one of our favourite walks. Fingals ashes were scatterered there and we will always pause by the bridge where we said our last goodbye
Alan - there seems to be quite a lot of snow around the UK. Enjoyed the Starling rabbit shape. Great picture of the Eagles in conversation!
Dibnlib – Loch an Eileian looks so calm in your photo – only time I’ve been there was a cold June day with really rough wind making waves on the loch! Just been for a very short walk – first time for months so I couldn’t get very far, but it’s cleared our heads so we both feel it’s done us good. Even had a quick look at winter damage in the garden when we got back.
Had a phonecall during lunch – twas Grandson#1 announcing his engagement – not entirely unexpected but good news just the same. He travelled (by train) from Edinburgh (his Uni) to Aberdeen (hers), then took her for a day out in St Andrews (where they first met) and actually proposed on the beach in the moonlight. Aaaaaahh!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG, awww, can it be more romantic and lovely! So sweet.
dibnlib, absolutely beautiful pic, thank you
Alan, it took me a while to get that joke: I had to say it out loud and then I got it LOL. I take Paddy and his mate are Irish?
I hope Caerann won`t get too much snow, take care sweetie!
AQ, thanks for your attempt to send the sunshine here. I think we must not forget the mileage between us, so I recon it will be here sometime in march/April. And `cause you are "down-under" and I`m up here, it must climb uphill ;)
Lindybird, hope you get well soon! Keep warm and eat and drink anything that makes you feel better
Everyone, have a nice Sunday and see you tomorrow
