After an epic two weeks of work, we're now fully recovered from Storm Katie and ready for the nesting terns to arrive, all we need are the rest of the birds...

The signs are all back up...

The habitat's in good shape (with a mix of sandy patches like above, large expanses of shingle, swathes of finer sand and a variety of vegetated areas)...

The electric fencing is in place, waiting for me to take out the power & switch them on in a couple of weeks and our cameras are now monitoring the sites closely for activity...

Little tern decoys are now in position, awaiting their real colleagues to arrive...

As of today, Black-headed and Mediterranean Gulls are nest building across the Solent whilst Sandwich Tern numbers continue to build.  Oystercatcher and Ringed plover are making scrapes whilst Redshank are chasing each other.  With the imminent arrival of common and little terns, the coastal summer (at least for our wildlife) is about to start...
