After reports the weather would turn bad again I was quite pleased to find the conditions for phase 2 of the 2013 works to be reasonable. Over 300 tonnes was transported to the island, again by BP Norse Marine, and deposited on the ridge for spreading as soon as possible. The final delivery was made up entirely of ballast which will be used to cap the new ridge.  After what feels like an eternity the riskiest part of this project is over and has gone very well. Having the aggregate profiled on the ridge in the week commencing 8th April will mean Little Terns should be interested when they arrive over the next few weeks.

I was very lucky to be asked to do a live radio interview for BBC Solent on the project helping to promote the RSPB's work. We now also have  people interested in volunteering for Langstone Harbour. We need lots more so please do check on the website to see if you can help.
