After my wader bonanza on Tuesday last week, the good luck continued with several quality site records. The ruff, dunlin and ringed plovers were still present throughout Wednesday and Thursday, with 3 hobby feeding over Phase 2, multiple kingfishers, greenshank and common and green sandpipers. However, it was Friday when the real fun started….

Friday’s sightings

1 little stint – on Phase 3, then flew north over Phase 2 with c.15 dunlin. The first on site since at least 2010

1 grey plover – on silt lagoon 7 then flew north over Phase 1. The first on site since 2011

1 whimbrel – flew north along the high level water carrier with a curlew

Another 6 dunlin, with 3 ringed plover on Phase 3

2 green sandpiper on Phase 3

Grey wagtail on Phase 3 and 8+ yellow wagtails
