Another record breaking WeBS count, with record numbers of goldeneye and gadwall recorded. The previous maxima count of gadwall was 98, so the 143 counted last Sunday blows that figure right out of the flood water.

Other birds of note over the past week have included a water pipit, great white egret, bittern and pink-footed geese over. Water levels are creeping back up again and so unfortunately the only part of the reserve open at the moment is still just the short section between the Beach Hut and the 360 Viewing Screen.
