We’ve got lots of events lined up in 2018, beginning this weekend, 27th January, with the Big Garden Bird Watch (BGBW). There’ll be advice on bird spotting from our Coed y Capel hide and the chance to make some simple and nutritious bird snacks to hang in your garden and attract our feathered friends ready for the big count!

Half term in February is also National Nestbox week, so why not come along and make some bird nests ready for the breeding season? Every weekend throughout April, including the Easter bank holiday, sees our annual Live Lambing event, so don’t miss the opportunity to welcome the new arrivals at our working organic farm. Please note, however, that this event is not suitable for pregnant women.

Our innovative Forest Bathing event, which we started just before Christmas, has proved so popular that we are planning to run it throughout the coming year. If you’ve never heard of it, Forest Bathing doesn’t involve water at all! Rather it’s a relaxation session out among the trees, connecting with nature via mindfulness and the use of the senses. Led by an experienced practitioner, Forest Bathing – or 'shinrin-yoku' - can boost the immune system, decrease stress and lower blood pressure.

In addition to all this, there’ll be our regular nature events throughout the spring and summer, such as our Lazy Sunday Nature Stroll; our Dawn Chorus Walk, complete with coffee and croissants; a Nightjar Walk and, Bat Walk and, of course, our children’s nature days during the school holidays. And, on the first weekend of every month, there’ll be a chance to test drive our wonderful binoculars and telescopes at our optics events.
