Good morning. If you are registered for our FULLY BOOKED Race for Wildlife on Sunday, here is some more information about the event.
Car parking
Reserve staff and volunteers will be parking cars when you arrive. Although there is plenty of car parking space, we would recommend car sharing if possible.
Registration
As there are around 150 runners taking part on the day, please allow yourself plenty of time to get yourself registered. Registration will be in the visitor centre from around 9.30am onwards.
Start
Please note that the start is approximately a 10 minute walk from the visitor centre so please take this into account when you arrive.
Routes
5k route:
10k route:
Both routes will be signposted: Blue arrows for 5k runners and red arrows for 10k runners. Marshals will be placed at at strategic points around both routes. There will also be back markers for each distance (I will be back marking the 10k!)
Water
There will be a water station approximately half way around the 10k route. Additionally, as the weather could potentially be quite warm, certain marshals on the 5k route will have water if you need it. All participants across both distances will receive a bottle of water at the finish line.
After the run
Each participant will receive a goody bag and a medal. Homemade cakes and hot drinks will be available near the visitor centre.
If there is anything else that you would like to know, please do not hesitate to give the reserve office a ring on: 01842 863400 or e-mail: lakenheath@rspb.org.uk;
We look forward to seeing you on the day.
