Just a quick note that a golden oriole was cat calling and making a few subdued fluty sounds In West Wood this morning. Better late than never! Here is a picture of a male from last year:

The males do cat call but we may well have a female here as well. We will let you know when we know!

Hi David - so males do the catcalling too, do they? Heard a fair amount of it yesterday and couldn't work out if it was a female or not.
