Heady days here on Islay, as we all dig out our best frocks and try to get James to comb his hair ready for our 15 minutes of fame. BBC Winterwatch will be returning to our screens for 4 nights, from Monday 29th January, and Islay and its fabulous wildlife are set to feature prominently. The BBC2 programme will be featuring both Loch Gruinart and The Oa reserves, as well as other locations on Islay, and the island's golden eagles, otters, twite and greenland white-fronted geese are amongst the wildlife expected to be shown.
Whether the programmes can possibly live up to the standards of the last time we were on the telly, when Dave Wood rummaged around in a cow pat for 5 unforgettable minutes, remains to be seen.
On Monday 29 January and Thursday 1 February, you can see Winterwatch from 9pm. On Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 January, Winterwatch is on at 8pm.
You can also catch up on BBC iPlayer. Find out more about the series on the BBC website.
