In the last few days the lapwing have started displaying over the wet grassland in the calm dry and bright weather we have been having. From the Information Room there must be at least 10 males calling and doing aerial acrobatics.

At night we've been seeing a lot of moths flying in the headlights. Last night armed with a net and pots I took a 45 min drive and only on the way back something did come out of the verge and onto the road. The moth has now been confirmed as a Dotted Border which is common species in the UK but this is the first time it has even been recorded on Coll, so well worth the drive.

Fingers crossed the weather remains good for while!
