A dreich day here on Islay, so thought I’d dig up some photos to brighten the day!
Sundew is the venus flytrap of the moorland. Its sticky reaches trap midges and other small insects, then the leaves curl into itself so that they can be digested (you can see it in the furthest leaf of the picture). It can be quite small, but its bright red colouring does help it to stand out.
In the woodland the bluebells look amazing against the bright green of the grass and the paler yellow primrose.
