So as promised here are the figures from the recent goose count… 46,931 Barnacle geese and 5,888 Greenland white fronted geese, so plenty to see!

                This afternoon I was out near the Gruinart flats with my fellow volunteer John hoping to see hen harriers coming to roost and although there were no hen harriers to be seen we did get to see the geese heading off to roost a little way down the loch. The sight and sound of so many barnacle and white fronted geese flying overhead is always impressive and today it was topped off by a pretty smashing sunset.
