Everyone at RSPB Islay is deeply saddened by the sudden death of Carl Reavey, of Bruichladdich distillery. Carl worked with us developing our partnership with The Botanist Foundation, but his contribution to so many facets of Islay life is difficult to overstate. He was a true one-off, full of positivity and funny stories and endless enthusiasm about seemingly everything, from music to natural history or cycling and photography. He will be sadly missed and all our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.
